Episode 3: Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscape
The Upper Lusatian heath and pond landscape near Bautzen is a true paradise. The largest pond landscape in Central Europe presents a fascinating mixture of history, culture and unique nature that dates back to the Ice Age. A reason for UNESCO to designate it as a biosphere reserve. In the region, visitors can experience traditional fish farming as well as legendary stories about the wizard KRABAT and impressive birdlife - with a bit of luck, a white-tailed eagle might even cross their path.

Episode 4: Oberlausitzer Bergland
Gentle hills and picturesque villages - these are typical of the Upper Lusatian Highlands. The low mountain region is characterized by places where traditions such as half-timbered houses and historic mills have been preserved. The Spree has its source here and the Upper Lusatian Mountain Trail invites you to enjoy a variety of hikes. The "sundial village" of Taubenheim with its more than 30 sundials is well worth a detour. The planet trail in Sohland is a particular highlight for families. Interesting discovery tours or relaxation in nature: you can do both here.

Episode 5: Kamenz
The Lessing town of Kamenz has a rich history dating back to 1225. It is best known for the famous poet Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, who was born here and whose work is still appreciated today. If you want to find out more about the region, you will find exciting exhibits in the Museum der Westlausitz. The town itself can be explored interactively with the town game of the Oberlausitzer Sechsstädtebund. The highlight of the year is the traditional forest festival, which always takes place in August. Kamenz also has a lot else to offer that makes it worth a visit.
