Via Sacra - For heart and soul
The Via Sacra is a church, cultural, artistic, historical and political journey. It is a tourist route on existing roads and paths and not previously signposted.
20 stations invite you to discover an extraordinary European cultural space. The Via Sacra connects outstanding sacred buildings and art treasures in the tri-national Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa and has become a must for cultural tourists from Europe and around the world. Travel without borders - through centuries - to your senses.
Living on the Via Sacra is a millennium of Central European culture. It runs along the Via Regia and other trade and pilgrimage routes through Upper Lusatia, Lower Silesia and northern Bohemia. The 20 stations exemplify the varied history of the region with its Saxon, Bohemian, Silesian and Sorbian roots. Nine stations are in German, three in Polish and eight in Czech. Criteria for the selection are from the beginning the cultural-historical rank and Schauwert, but also touristy effective superlatives. So every sacred building has something special to offer.
